LEHI, UT-September 8, 2005 - XanGo, recognized creator of the mangosteen supplement category, today was named number one company under five years old by the Utah Valley Entrepreneurial Forum at the annual "Top 25 Under 5" luncheon. XanGo Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer Kent Wood accepted the award by thanking XanGo's independent network of distributors and employee force.
"We are grateful to our employees who have worked diligently to realize XanGo's category-creating entrepreneurial vision as a surging international corporation," said Wood. "Our global network of independent distributors is a tremendous asset in bringing XanGo™ Juice to consumers around the world and helping us exceed high company performance expectations."
Wood stated that XanGo has set a goal to become one of the fastest natural products companies to reach one billion in annual sales. He also announced that XanGo will continue to bring XanGo™ Juice to consumers worldwide by opening new international markets. "We appreciate events like these, where our employees and distributors are publicly recognized for their outstanding contributions to the nutraceuticals industry," said Wood.
According to the Utah Entrepreneurial Forum, approximately 80 percent of entrepreneurial ventures fail in the first five years of start-up. "We want to reward those companies who stay on track to create return opportunities," said John Richards, UVEP Chairman. The UVEF have recognized the development of more than 100 entrepreneurs and their companies in the past five years.
